Anyhow they are the reincarnation of Judas Iscariot, so THAT'S A THING. Also, their life as Alex has been shitty for entirely separate reasons (abandoned by their mom, shitty abusive father with HEAVY RELIGIOUS [CATHOLIC] OVERTONES hahaha they hate their life).

Beyond the whole uh Jesus situation though, they don't have a history of murdering or hurting people, and even the Jesus thing was done out of cowardice more than anything else.
